“Alien: Romulus” appears to have put the franchise back on track
“Romulus” was released on Friday, August 16, and opened at number one, beating out “Deadpool & Wolverine” Since then, it has grossed over $300 million worldwide and has an 80% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes
If you haven't checked out Fede Alvarez's “Alien: Romulus” yet, you'll have to catch it at your local theater (as of the latest update) Having seen the film myself, I can confidently say that it is well worth the trip to the theater Like all the best “Alien” movies, “Romulus” is a tense sci-fi thriller that also boasts killer performances from its leads (Cailee Spaeny and David Johnson) It's also worth a look if you're even remotely excited about FX's “Alien: Earth” TV show
However, if you'd rather watch it at home (so you can hide behind the couch during the most unsettling parts?) or are looking forward to a second viewing, here's what we know right now about “Alien: Romulus” streaming dates
As of the latest update, “Alien: Romulus” does not yet have a streaming date However, it's not all bad news, as a digital and physical release date has just been set [Thanks to the “Bring Home The Terror” trailer above, we now know that “Alien: Romulus” will be available for purchase on premium video-on-demand (PVOD) services such as Prime Video, Apple TV, and Google Play on October 15
But what about the streaming availability date for “Alien: Romulus”? No confirmation has been made, but since “Romulus” is a 20th Century Studios film, we can expect “Alien: Romulus” to be available on Hulu when it comes to Hulu
Disney has not yet confirmed when “Alien: Romulus” will be available for streaming, so the best way to predict when it will land on Hulu is to look back at how long it has taken past 20th Century Studios films to arrive on the streamer
Unlike other studio releases, there is much more variance between the streaming dates of recent 20th Century Studios theatrical releases While “Planet of the Apes” had to wait 85 days before it was available on Hulu, “The First Omen” was available in just 56 days
Meanwhile, Gareth Evan's 2023 sci-fi film The Creator arrived on Hulu 120 days after its theatrical release on September 29
Such a wide range makes it difficult to pinpoint an exact streaming date for “Alien: Romulus,” but if the film continues to do well at the box office, it will be a reasonable wait Our guess is that “Alien: Romulus” will be available on Hulu in November or December 2024 As soon as a more precise date is confirmed, we will post it here
