Netflix doubles down on its partnership with comedian John Mulaney

In early 2024, he helmed a well-received six-episode limited edition talk live show called “John Mulaney Presents: Everybody's in LA” And now, the streamer has tapped Mullaney for another talk live show next year He will appear as host, executive producer, and co-showrunner, but specific details about the series have yet to be revealed

The news was confirmed by Netflix chief content officer Bella Bajaria (h/t Variety) At the Bloomberg Screentime event in Los Angeles, Bajaria said, “Next year, for the year 2025, I'm doing a Variety live talk show with John Mullaney Hello John Mullaney [I've known John for a long time, I've done his standup special, and I did a live talk show called 'Everybody's in LA' at the 'Netflix is a Joke Festival

“I was there for some of the recordings and they were so bold, original, fresh, and unpredictable And I think it would be really fun to do a live show with him,” Bajaria added

Netflix confirmed the announcement at X, but gave no details about the exact nature of the new talk show format, only that it is scheduled for early 2025

If it is anything like “Everybody's in LA,” expect pre-recorded sketches, musical appearances, lots of celebrity appearances, and, of course, chats with all kinds of guests

However, it seems that the new series will tackle new ideas, as Bajaria confirmed that the previous series failed to attract a large audience Still, Netflix considers the series a useful experiment for the future
