Hulu's best show got even better — and it earned 100% on Rotten Tomatoes

Perhaps the most striking thing about Hulu's "Welcome to Wrexham" is that many Ame that football (or football known elsewhere) is clearly the best sport on the planet, and "Welcome to Wrexham" is another timely reminder that you can't just beat the proper game of footie Minda

I'm a huge football fan with a love for sports documentaries, so from the first day I was naturally on board to the show, but I've also been impressed by how it has developed throughout its three seasons It's now one of the best sports documentaries I've ever seen, and rival streaming services like Prime Video's "All or Nothing" and Netflix's "Together: Treble Winners"

"Welcome to Wrexham" Season 3 premiered on Hulu (or Disney Plus over here IN THE UK) at the beginning of the month, with a new release Episodes have been removed weekly We are now 8 episodes into a 4-episode run (the season is split into 2, as is the trend these days), and "Welcome to Wrexham" is as engrossing as ever, providing a unique insight into a special club Here's why this Hulu shows such a win:

As you probably know (the story of Wrexham has been everywhere over the last few years), "Welcome to Wrexham" is written in Wrexham AFCFollow the daily run of a professional football club located in North East Wales The club has co・chairs in the form of Hollywood superstars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, and this bizarre couple's marriage is the culmination of a true sport

2022/23 season 2 that recorded Wrexham finally winning the English Football League (English Football League) We have achieved our goal of promotion to the EFL (EFL) Given the club's obsession with this purpose, which was well documented in the previous 33 episodes, "Welcome to Wrexham" Season 3 is not always likely to lose momentum as its story line wraps up

Fortunately, it is not "Welcome to Wrexham" remains an absorbing watch, with even more exciting new goals drawn That is, the club hopes to finally win a spot in the very lucrative Premier League, England's best domestic league But first, Wrexham must secure a promotion from the EFL League 2

The sports drama is fun — especially for football fans — but what has always shone the brightest in "Welcome to Wrexham" is how it is woven into the stories of people living in a former mining town This is no different in Season 3 I loved watching Andy's Man Club, a men's mental health support group in Episode 3, and watching the story of Valerie Creusailor, a Zimbabwean immigrant who started a seasoning business in Wrexham in Episode 4

By exploring the residents of Wrexham, and not just the well-paid players who wear club shirts every week, the show scores more goals than their opponents This series perfectly shows how sporting success can change the town in different ways "Welcome to Wrexham" proves the power of positive change that sport can offer, and that's one of the reasons I love it

Of course, the drama on the pitch is also fun, with players like Paul Marin, Ollie Palmer and bad・mouthed manager Phil Parkinson still gaining a lot of screen time And now that Wrexham is out of the non-league, the small adjustments made to the team's setup are fascinating

We already know how this 2023/24 season will end (no spoilers here), but I'm greatly looking forward to that conclusion coming out from the point of view of all this access

"Welcome to Wrexham" has always been a hit with critics, with the first two seasons of the show each earning 91% on review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes, and the third season of the show taking it one step above "Welcome to Wrexham" Season 3, which holds a perfect 100% score at the time of writing (May 21)

Collider's Taylor Gates said, "Welcome to Wrexham Season 3 evolves with the team while staying true to its humble origins"M of FandomWireNMiller praised Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney for saying they "bring lightness and reliability" to the show

Decider's Joel Keller was similarly impressed with "Welcome to Wrexham" Season 3: "Welcome to Wrexham is not the exact same brave underdog team But as long as the show's producers continue to emphasize the team's connection to the fans and the city, it should be more than just a sports documentary In 2023, Amazon Prime Video released a sports documentary centered around his own football team, Newcastle United Still, I rank "Welcome to Wrexham" as a better show

I passionately support a club that is almost 170 miles away from Wrexham and currently ranks higher than the three divisions (Newcastle is the Premier League, where Wrexham wants to be), but I still eagerly await the journey of a Welsh club thanks to this wonderful document It is onboard And I hope Newcastle will soon play Wrexham in this new look (and absolutely slash them)

Even if you can't point to Wrexham on the map and are at best interested in football, I still recommend "Welcome to Wrexham" The highs and lows of the football season are only part of the appeal, and the human story of people associated with the club is central to the series, with Reynolds and McElhenney's Showma It's a must-see show and only getting better with age

"Welcome to Wrexham" Season 3 will be streamed on hulu, with new episodes dropping every week
