It's always exciting news when Netflix, one of the best streaming services out there, offers yet another compelling show While watching the same shows and movies over and over can be therapeutic, it's good to find something fresh And if you're eager for a good crime mystery story, you're in luck
"Wednesday's" Emma Myers has landed the lead role in "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder," based on the successful novel by Holly Jackson The series follows Pip, played by Myers, as she investigates a murder Although the police have solved the case, Pip believes there is more to the story and is determined to learn the truth, no matter the consequences
Having read Jackson's crime mystery novels, I can assure you that this adaptation has a very interesting premise Myers' performance as Enid on Wednesday was excellent, and I have no doubt that she will play the role of Pip Fitz-Amobi well
The new series will be available on Netflix in the US by the end of the year In the UK, it will be streamed earlier on BBC Three and may be available in July
With these new pictures already building my excitement for the show, it is only a matter of time before a trailer is released It's only a matter of time before the trailer is released The closer we get to seeing the series, the more details will be revealed, but for now, these pictures are enough At any rate, the teaser photos give us a good idea of the group's dynamism
As you can see, there are many more characters joining Pip This cast includes Zain Iqbal as Ravi Singh, Anna Maxwell Martin as Rian Amobi, Gary Beadle as Victor Amobi, Yari Topol Margulis as Lauren Gibson, Henry Ashton as Max Hastings, Matthew Bainton as Elliott Ward, among others
Other characters will probably be revealed in the trailer, along with a brief timeline of how this crime mystery show will play out on the small screen For now, Meyers seems to have captured Pip's innocence and joy perfectly, and since this world is derived from the novel, we are eager to see the characters she portrays
The only teaser should be enough to pique interest While it doesn't give us much to look at, it still gives us some information and clues as to what to expect in A Good Girl's Guide to Murder
If you've read the books (yes, it's a trilogy), you might recognize that this is a party where Pip and her friends go during an investigation that could turn into a disaster I won't spoil it for you, but just know that the scene at this party opens the investigation, with several important clues and interactions
First, Pip's panic as he walks through the crowded party could mean that something has already happened, and this is a scene I am looking forward to! But other than the bright neon lights in the background and the oblivious partygoers, that's all we get in just ten seconds
This teaser could set up a trailer that should arrive any day now if the UK release is during July If you're in the mood to see other book adaptations, check out our guide to the 5 best Netflix movies based on books, which scored over 90% on Rotten Tomatoes It's also worth watching these best movies before they leave Netflix in April 2024
