Details of the Battlefield 2042 release have been confirmed along with the DLC plan

Update: Battlefield 2042 is now in Early Access, but it's off to a rocky start, at least at the time of writing

Battlefield 2042 is only a week away from launch, or less than 24 hours if you're in Early Access

The game's three core experiences are now fully revealed With a new player count of 128 on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC,

All Out Warfare will offer the traditional Battlefield experience that players have come to expect, with fan-favorite modes like Conquest and Breakthrough on a massive scale

The game's other two offerings, Battlefield Portal and Hazard Zone, offer something slightly different

The Portal is a community-driven platform that allows players to create custom matches that mash together elements from multiple "Battlefield" classic games Want to pit historical infantry from "Battlefield 1942" against modern soldiers from "Battlefield 3"? The "Battlefield Portal" lets you do just that

Hazard Zone is a new cooperative play mode where you and your squad will extract data drives while avoiding being eliminated by competing squads Each player has only one life and there are no respawns, so the stakes are quite high While not quite the Battle Royale mode, there is definitely an element of winner-takes-all, which has become popular in the subgenre in recent years

Most of the information in this last Battlefield Briefing before release was already known, but the most intriguing is a small section at the bottom titled "What to expect after launch" Here Dice describes the DLC plans after launch, which seem to be quite extensive

There will be four seasons during the first year after launch, with four corresponding Battlepaths and a new specialist class in each season Battlefield Portal content will also be added after release, and Dice teased a new map that "may have some new highlights"

The first season of new content is confirmed to begin in early 2022, but the last few weeks of this year will be a preseason period, with weekly missions, limited-time modes, and plenty of rewards available

"Battlefield 2042" will be released on November 19 on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, but a stripped-down version will also be available on the previous generation consoles If you can't wait another week, you can pre-order the Gold/Ultimate Edition or subscribe to EA Play to start playing this weekend
