The massive Amazon Web Services, or AWS, outage affected some of the largest websites and services on the Internet, including Twitch, PlayStation Network, Doordash, and League of Legends The outage now appears to be under control
According to Amazon's AWS Service Health Dashboard website, Internet connectivity is currently affecting servers in the western United States, particularly in Oregon and northern CaliforniaAt this time, Amazon has acknowledged the issue and appears to have restored connectivity to both servers
US-WEST-1, which includes northern California, is fully operational again Amazon engineers stated that connectivity within this region was not affected in the first place In other words, most of the problems appear to have been caused by US-WEST-2 in Oregon Nevertheless, US-WEST-2 also appears to be back up and running

8:01 AM PST We have identified the root cause of the Internet connection to the US-WEST-1 region and have taken steps to restore the connection There has been some improvement in Internet connectivity over the past few minutes, but we are continuing to work toward full recovery (The same message was posted to US-WEST-2)
7:52 AM PST We are investigating internet connection issues to the US-WEST-1 region
7:42 AM PST We are currently investigating internet connectivity issues to the US-WEST-2 region
This outage does not appear to be as widespread as the one on Tuesday, December 7, so it may not affect as many sites and services Also, since this outage is more regional in nature, the impact on users may vary by location In any case, below is a list of the main websites and services affected as listed on Down Detector:
