The game lineup for Evo 2020, the world's largest annual fighting game tournament, has officially been announced, with Evo head Joey "MrWizard" Quella and fighting game veteran Mike Ross revealing the full lineup during a special live stream on February 4 and announced a total of nine matches, a mix of genre staples and genuine surprises
The Evo 2020 lineup consists of eight main games, plus Marvel vs Capcom 20, a special invitational tournament celebrating the game's 20th anniversary The full lineup is as follows:
New to this year's Evo roster is Granblue Fantasy Versus, the highly anticipated 2D anime fighter from veteran Arc System Works, which is scheduled for release on March 3 Also on the roster is Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late [cl-r], the latest in a long line of highly technical cult anime brawlers from Ecole Software and French Bread
Street Fighter V, which just received a major Champion Edition update; Tekken 7, one of the most exciting finals at Evo 2019; and last year's most highly entered event, Super Smash Bros Ultimate," and other returning games
Notably absent is "Mortal Kombat 11," which was just released in April 2019 and continues to enjoy a steady stream of updates and a healthy player base If you are attending Evo and are disappointed that your game did not make the main roster, you can still run your own side tournament at the event, or you can sign up for the Evo Community Championships to have your event on the main stage
A unique event at this year's Evo will be Marvel vs Capcom 2: 20urnament of Champions, an eight-player invitational tournament to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Capcom's acclaimed crossover fighting game The event will feature four past champions of MvC2 Evo, including veteran pro players Justin Wong, Duc Do, Michael "Yipes" Mendoza, and Sanford Kelly, as well as four players eligible to compete for a spot
