Leaked Lenovo presentation materials highlighting the ThinkPad Nano laptop may have Dell concerned The new laptop has a slim bezel that makes you want to lighten up on Dell's InfinityEdge display, and it undercuts Dell's XPS 13 from left to right
For starters, the ThinkPad X1 Nano is "the lightest ThinkPad ever" at less than 999 kg (22 lbs), about 04 lbs lighter than the non-touch-enabled XPS 13 (264 lbs) At 148 mm (058 inches) thin, it is about the same as the XPS 13, the best laptop available today
These leaked specs come courtesy of respected tech tweeter @h0x0d aka WalkingCat The slides reveal that the X1 Nano will feature a 13" 2K display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, producing up to 450 nits of brightness (quite bright) and 100% of the sRGB color spectrum
Other specs include an Intel Tiger Lake 15W processor and 16GB of RAM The sheet states that this is a 10th generation Intel Core i7 processor, which is a bit confusing since Tiger Lake is expected to be an 11th generation chip class [It also has dual Thunderbolt 4 ports (one for charging, the other for dual 4K monitor output), 4x4 MIMO LTE, 5G, and a premium carbon fiber design with an "optional Weave A" cover, because it's a ThinkPad, TrackPoint for navigation is also included
Just as interestingly, Lenovo's slides claim that this ultraportable packs more than 17 hours of battery life into its ultra-slim chassis So we'll be interested to see if it can surpass the 12+ hours of battery life we got with the Dell XPS 13 in our web browsing-based battery test
Due to the Thunderbolt 4 specification, we expect this ThinkPad X1 Nano to be available in Q4 2020 or early 2021 We look forward to seeing how the ThinkPad X1 Nano compares to rivals like the Dell XPS 13 and the rest of our picks for best laptop
