The PS5 Pro is coming soon. Sony has already announced a hefty $700 price tag, and the release date is coming up on November 7.
However, some lucky people have managed to get their hands on the console early, even though it has yet to officially ship to those who pre-ordered it. Brazilian content creator Brunno Fast is one such person who shared what he claims is the full specs of the PS5 Pro.
Since this is an X-user who shared the specs, please take this kind of thing with a grain of salt as it can be faked.
Most of the specs were already known. The processor, various ports, 2TB SSD capacity, and even the size of the console can be clearly seen in the Portuguese spec sheet. [Sony appears to have added 2GB of DDR 5 RAM to the PS5 Pro. Interestingly, this additional RAM uses DDR5, since the console's main RAM is currently 16 GB of GDDR6. However, it is not the game that uses the additional memory, but perhaps the operating system.
So if this is RAM designed to run an OS, why is it exciting? In other words, game developers could use all 16GB of GDDR6 RAM to improve game performance.
This, along with the PS5 Pro offering 67% more computing power (raw TFLOPS) than the base model PS5, could make the console much faster than current consoles.
We will have to wait until we get our hands on a PS5 Pro to be sure of the increased RAM, but it will be interesting to see how much of a performance boost this spec leak will bring, if this leak is true.
