Looking for today's Connections answer for puzzle #515 on November 7, which is considerably harder than yesterday's puzzle, this puzzle from Connections Companion has a difficulty rating of 3.6 out of 5.
We update our Connections clues and hints daily. And if the hints aren't enough, you can see all four answers along with the category title and related words. In addition, for those of you reading this in a different time zone, I've included a reflection on yesterday's puzzle 514.
There are spoilers for connection 515. Only read this if you want to know the answer to today's connection.
Alternatively, see our NYT Connections How to Play Guide for tips on how to solve the puzzle without our help.
The New York Times' engineers union is on strike and has asked that you not play the game on the NYT Games app or online. If you don't want to cross the picket line, we have created a strike version of our website with the same puzzles.
Unlike today's guide to Wordle answers, we recommend the best Wordle starting words as your strategy. The difficulty of each category is represented by a color, with yellow being the easiest grouping and purple the hardest. Hints are helpful, as four wrong guesses will reveal the answer.
If you need a hint to solve the groupings, here are each theme in order of difficulty:
These hints should at least help you find the answer to today's connection. If not, please continue reading for larger hints. Also, if you only want to know the answer, scroll down further.
A bigger tip is to visit a museum, consider the reputations of famous artists, and then have a nice lunch afterwards.
Now, what is the answer to today's game #514 Connection?
Drum roll please.
Today with the yellow group we had hash, salad, scrambled and stew.
I was a bit caught off guard by the reputation, name, and character. The picture worked for this, but it didn't click, but I knew the trio was right. I got there.
Now I settled on the blue categories: artist, medium, title, and year.
This is good because I couldn't see what the purple group was trying to reveal. After all, it was an anagram of the artist's name. Dial (Dali), Egads (Degas), Monte (Monet), and Yoga (Goya).
Are you reading this in a slow time zone? According to Connections Companion, the difficulty level was 2.4 out of 5.
I'll be brief today.
Blue started by grabbing CORRESPOND, MESSAGE, TEXT, and WRITE.
From there, green was easy with different, new, novel, original.
I must be old because my thoughts were VCR buttons, not DVR, which in any case included pause, play, record, stop.
We ended up with purple, featuring bipeds, furniture, poetry, and yardsticks.
It should be noted that the New York Times Tech Guild went on strike. The Tech Guild is made up of NY Times staffers, including software engineers and data analysts, and is responsible for the back end of NYT games, recipes, podcasts, election bulletins, etc.
Members of the guild are asking people to support the strike by not playing NYT games. If you prefer not to cross the picket line, there is a strike version of Connections.
They appear to be posting the same version of Connections and will be visiting that site until the strike is over.
Whatever you do with this information is your business.
