Worried that the long-awaited final season of “Stranger Things” won't stick the landing, the Netflix original has already received an endorsement from Jim Hopper (David Harbour).
During a live recording of the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, Harbour praised the “Stranger Things” season 5 finale as “the best episode yet.”
Harbour noted that “you can be very critical of this show,” but said: they landed the plane and it's the best episode ever.”
“At the end of this episode, when we were reading it alone, about halfway through, people started crying. And for the last 20 minutes or so, waves of people from all walks of life were crying uncontrollably. Noah Schnapp was my favorite,” he said. [They started the show when they were 11 and 12 years old, and now they're reading [the finale] like this, and it's 10 years later, and they're validating that idea, and it's so well done, so beautiful. It's a great episode, a great season. I think you guys are going to love it,” Harber added (quoted by Deadline).
No official release date has been set for “Stranger Things” Season 5, but the final chapter will air at some point in 2025, three years after the last trip to Hawkins.
The last major update we got about the show came in July, when Netflix dropped new behind-the-scenes footage from the “Stranger Things” set. At that time, we learned that the series was approaching the halfway point of filming, and members of the main crew shared Harbour's sentiments.
We don't know much about the plot of Season 5 either, aside from the fact that several new castmates are involved, including Linda Hamilton, Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Brew.
