Prime Video's Top 10 has changed dramatically in recent weeks Several new entries have appeared to shake up the streaming service's most-watched list, which had been relatively stale during the summer months
Unfortunately, the mystery thriller has received less than stellar reviews and is currently at a relatively stagnant 17% on Rotten Tomatoes A high ranking in Prime Video's top 10 does not guarantee its quality It is not uncommon for a skippable movie to make the service's top 10
Thus, we pick out a few movies from Prime Video's top 10 (as of Friday, October 4) that deserve attention From thrilling romantic dramas to sci-fi blockbusters, each of these three films should be on your watch list right now
“Challenger” may be a sports drama, but it's more thrilling than most action films Set in the world of professional tennis, the film follows Art (Mike Feist), a former champion who can't seem to break his losing streak His coach (and wife), Tashi (Zendaya), enters him in a minor tournament to restore his confidence, but the plan backfires when Art ends up playing his former best friend Patrick (Josh O'Connor) Awkward story
Luca Guadagnino's “Challenger” combines romantic and sports drama and succeeds thanks to three strong performances Zendaya is the star, but Feist and O'Connor are also excellent Moreover, the nonlinear narrative structure makes it compelling from the start, allowing the viewer to move forward and back in time as the complex relationships between the three characters are convincingly explored (and the ending is pure genius) The Challengers is a gripping drama, whether or not you can swing a tennis racket”

“Gifted” is one of my favorite comfort movies This comedic drama is a perfect example of a feel-good movie that will lift your spirits after a long day And with Chris Evans in his usual charisma and a young McKenna Grace co-starring with him, “gifted” has a youthful energy that will entertain even the most clinical viewer Watch this film and try to smile all the way through
“gifted/gifted” centers on Frank Adler (Evans) and his young niece Mary (McKenna Grace) After the death of Frank's sister (and Mary's mother), Frank becomes Mary's de facto guardian However, his desire for Mary to have a normal childhood is threatened when she begins to exhibit mathematical abilities beyond her years As a result, Frank's feisty mother Evelyn (Linsday Duncan) shows up and demands that Mary be sent to a school for gifted children

I have to admit: I wasn't interested in “Transformers: The Beasts Strike Back” when I saw it in theaters last summer Neither were the critics who gave it a low 51% rating on Rotten Tomatoes But the action epic was well received by fans The audience score on the same review aggregation site was an impressive 91% So I'm willing to accept the possibility that my opinion is an outlier In other words, if you like the usual “Transformers” series, you will love this movie
Made before Michael Bay's 2007 “Transformers,” “Rise of the Beast” is a crowd-pleasing throwback set in the 1990s and inspired by the popular “Beast Wars” line of transforming toys Starring Anthony Ramos and Dominic Fishback, the film predictably follows a group of humans caught up in an endless war between Autobots and Decepticons This time around, the Maximals, a race of Transformers that look like earthly animals like gorillas and eagles, are added to the mix
If you crave CGI-heavy spectacle, this movie has plenty of it, but beware that the actual story gets buried in the action
