Netflix has released the first look photos of the highly anticipated “Night Agents” Season 2 But that's not the only exciting news - along with this first look photo, Netflix also revealed that a third season is officially in the works, months before Season 2 is released

“Night Agent” is an action thriller centered on Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), a lowly FBI agent who monitors a seldom-ringing emergency phone in the White House basement When the phone finally rings, Peter is caught up in a deadly conspiracy involving a double agent in the upper echelons of government As he struggles to uncover the truth, he must protect a young woman caught up in the conspiracy

While fans are excited for renewals, the release date for Season 2 may initially seem disappointing The streaming service has revealed that it is scheduled for “winter 2025,” leaving many online bewildered by the wait; a Netflix Tudum post revealed that “Night Agents” Season 2 will start “this winter”

Production on Season 2 wrapped up some time ago, so it makes no sense to make fans wait another year The hit thriller show will be back on the small screen as early as January 2025

Netflix also announced details of “Night Agent” Season 2: “The new season will follow the thrilling events of Season 1 with Peter Sutherland's efforts to save the president earns him the opportunity to become a Night Agent In Season 2, working for a secret organization called Knight Action, Peter is thrust into a world where danger is everywhere and trust is in short supply”

Creator Sean Ryan commented on the future when the series was renewed for 2023; speaking to Collider, he said: “I always wanted to make each season almost a stand-alone story, and I think that's what we've done In this case, the center of gravity is Washington DC and the White House, with lots of characters I hope it will be a really satisfying journey for the audience”

Ryan also envisioned “a whole new place with a whole new set of problems, a few characters from season one will be part of it, but mostly new characters will surround them”

Peter will definitely be back (apparently) with his love interest Rose (Lucien Buchanan); the two finally formalized their romantic relationship at the end of season one, but given that Peter is flying off to an unknown location and Rose is returning to California it may not be smooth sailing from there

Ryan also commented on this new relationship to Netflix: “It's one of the big questions I want to answer in season 2 Peter gets on this plane and goes somewhere (probably overseas, on a new adventure), and Rose goes back to California to pursue her Silicon Valley dream again We certainly have some initial ideas”

It is no surprise that Netflix has renewed “Night Agent” for Season 3 The series topped Netflix's English-language TV charts for the first time, logging 16871 million hours of viewing in its first week and entering the top 10 in 93 countries In fact, it spent four consecutive weeks in the top 10 This alone, combined with the extremely short renewal time, proves that this action thriller was a huge hit with viewers

“We are very excited that fans will be able to watch Season 2 of The Night Agent in early 2025, and we are working hard on writing Season 3 to bring our enthusiastic audience even more breathless Peter Sutherland night action adventures I'm working hard,” Ryan told Netflix Tudum As noted here, Season 2 will definitely be in January or February of next year, not December 2025

Production on “Night Agents” Season 3 will begin in Istanbul in late 2024 and then return to New York for filming in 2025 This means that the third season will likely be released in early 2026 Of course, we won't know what that will be until Season 2 is released, but it is safe to assume that Basso will probably return as Peter Sutherland
