The rendering of the new Apple car reveals a surprisingly ugly EV that Apple will never make

We've heard rumors, read reports, and speculated about the comings and goings of executives, but the Apple Car remains a mystery There is no concrete information about what the Apple Car does or what kind of car it is

So people are trying to fill in the gaps, the latest being an interactive 3D model created by Vanarama And it looks It looks horrible Because if it is, Apple's chances of making the Best Electric Cars list are nil

Vanarama claims that the model was built using official Apple patents to give us an idea of what the interior and exterior of the Apple Car will look like However, given that it looks like a cross between a Tesla Cybertruck and an '80s VW Golf, one can only hope it doesn't look like this

Neither is a particularly good-looking car No matter how much Tesla and Elon Musk try to sell the strange, boxy aesthetic of the Cybertruck, it's just not going to happen Frankly, this is the absolute last thing Apple will produce in the 21st century

Bizarre design choices: this rendering includes door handles that mimic the iPhone's side buttons, coach doors (also known as suicide doors because of their known safety risks), and a large Mac-style mesh grille on the front

Given that everything we have heard about the Apple Car suggests that it will be an electric car, the grille makes the least sense of all Electric cars do not require the same level of air flow as internal combustion engines, and the necessary components are well below the chassis [In other words, this giant concept grille is basically redundant In other words, this huge concept grille is basically redundant, not even an aesthetic element

At least the interior makes a bit more sense The front dash has a large, seamless display that is not quite as extreme as some of the premium electric cars on the market The Mercedes EQS HyperScreen is not much different in appearance and similarly spans almost the entire dash

The steering wheel evokes the feeling of Tesla's infamous yoke steering wheel, although it is too empty to feel right to me It is unfortunate, however, that the wheel does not have a dedicated Siri screen That's what the giant infotainment screen should be for

The handbrake is a novel idea, and the gearshift dial, while not something you see particularly often, is a rather nice touch Oddly enough, these concepts appear to have three pedals, suggesting that they are manual transmissions With the exception of one Jeep concept, electric vehicle powertrains do not come with gearboxes While it is not entirely correct to call it an automatic, there is no discernible difference from a driving perspective

This is another indicator that Vanorama is forgetting that the Apple Car is strongly rumored to be a battery-powered car, making one wonder if the concept is really based on an Apple patent

Rendered images of the concept also show that the front seats can be rotated 180 degrees If the rumors of the Apple car driving autonomously are true, that makes sense

However, the interior looks very inorganic and the lack of any fabric (even carpet) makes it feel like a bus or some other form of public transportation There also seems to be a problem with legroom, and when front seat passengers turn their chairs around, they may find themselves knee to knee with those in the back seat This is not ideal

In addition, there are a tremendous number of Apple logos scattered throughout the car Apple is not very aggressive in branding and focuses on designs that catch people's attention The final Apple Car might have one or two Apple logos, but it won't have 11 logos like this concept

Thankfully, the Apple Car will not look like this Not only is this car ugly as sin, it is completely contrary to Apple's general design philosophy This company is known for making sleek and stylish products, not boxy monstrosities

More to the point, this design is not consistent with what we know about the Apple Car Let's hope the next rendering looks somewhat more appealing
